ParticipantI’m setting up a directory for an association and need to sort the list by board position. I am currently using the Country field (not ideal). It would be great if I could set up a custom field called “board position” and enter numbers to set the sort order. I did not see that possibility or the ability to hide the country field so it won’t display publicly (it is not really needed for this particular group)
Let me know if I am missing something.

Here’s a new trick that can be done with Connections…
- Edit your entries in the admin.
- While on the edit page, scroll to the “Custom Fields” metabox.
- Click the Enter New link in the Add New Custom Field: section.
- Enter order for the Name and the order number in the Value field.
- Click the Update button.
- Do this for all entries. This is important because any entry not assigned an order will not show up in the results.
- Edit the page where you inserted the
[connections]
shortcode. - Change the shortcode to:
[connections order_by='meta_key:order|NUMERIC_ASC']
Now you entries should appear in the desired order.
Hope that helps!

It is determined by which site has the license activated on the Connection : Settings admin page under the licenses tab.
