GuestI am trying to create a member directory using Slim Plus without any photo and only using three of my 5 categories. When I enter template=’slim-plus’, image_fallback=’none’, and category=’1,2,3′ shortcodes I lose the Slim Plus formatting.

Could be a type in the shortcode breaking the WordPress shortcode parser.
First suggestion. You do not need to use the template override shortcode option. I suggest removing it. Then navigate to the Connections : Templates admin page and activate the Slim Plus template.
Your shortcode should look like this:
[connections image_fallback='none' category='1,2,3']
Do not copy/paste the shortcode, unless you paste it into the WordPress Text tab when editing the page content. Pasting it while in the Visual tab will also paste the source page’s underlying HTML code, breaking the shortcode.
Hope this helps, let me know.

GuestTried making the Slim-Plus template the template default, still could not get the formatting to look like your example with field names in bold and vertically aligned. Tried all the same thing with another template as default and shortcode template=’slim-plus’. Still did not work.

Can you please share a link to your directory page so I can take a look? Without being able to see it and the review the page source, I can only throw guesses out. If it is private, just click the “Set as private reply” option before submitting.
Thanks!

Sorry, but I can not see the directory because it is setup to require a login to view.

GuestI removed the login shortcode. The Member Directory is at http://kennedycustomguitars.com/member-directory/.
I am still trying to build a login process that restricts non-members from viewing the member directory. The Login Widget appears to use the WordPress user registration. Is there a way to just use the Connections email address to accomplish the login?

Apologies for the delay, I was out of the office unexpectedly.
Perhaps you did have the directory so I could view it, but now, I see the login require message. You could create a temp account for me to login with so I can view your directory and post it here as a private reply.
RE: I am still trying to build a login process that restricts non-members from viewing the member directory. The Login Widget appears to use the WordPress user registration. Is there a way to just use the Connections email address to accomplish the login?
Sorry, no. That is not a feature that will ever be added to Connections since WordPress already has a builtin and proven secure user authentication system. Or, if I am not understanding … WordPress already allows the user to login with their email address and password or username and password. Perhaps you are looking for a way to have a single password for all you members??? If that is the case, you could use another feature already built into WordPress, when editing the page you added the Connections shortcode on you can opt to password protect the page. Now, obviously not all that secure since one password is being shared. Additionally, if your plan is to allow your directory members to add and maintain their own entry, then, your users will need WordPress user account.
Hope I have answered this thoroughly and not confused you.

Ok, I logged in and visited this page:
http://kennedycustomguitars.com/member-directory/
It is using the Slim Plus template (formatting) with the shortcode:
[connections image_fallback="none" image="none" category="1,2,3" enable_category_select='FALSE']
Maybe I am misunderstanding … Your originally said:

This is the issue I am looking for correct? If it is, the Slim Plus template is being used. Am I confused as to what the issue is? Could you give more details?
