I wonder if you can help me configure the PHP or a simpler setting to show only the first letter of the last name in any member listing shown to the public. I don’t suppose there is a shortcode I can stuff into the [connections] short code?
I need to hide last names because I want to show my members but I don’t want them looked up on the internet.
The only way to make this change is to edit the plugins core PHP file.
The edit will have to be made here.
Change it to:
mb_substr( $this->getLastName(), 0, 1, get_bloginfo( 'charset' ) );
I know its been awhile. Starting with the 0.8 release, due out soon, and any of the premium templates you can now do this with a shortcode option. For example:
[connections name_format='%firstl% %middle% %last_initial%']
