ParticipantHi Steven
I added this to an old ticket but I guess as it was marked resolved you may not have seen it. i am now at the point where I want to share a connections database across more than one site on a WP multisite. Can you provide instructions please

I get notified regardless if the topic was marked as resolved or not. I hadn’t had the opportunity to reply until now. I’ve deleted the other post so there is only one.
Really this should have been set up from the start. It may or may not work. It’ll depend on the db/table origin.
Add the following in the
wp-config.php
file:define( 'CN_MULTISITE_ENABLED', FALSE );
If the entries you’ve added are in the master site tables, you should have access to the Connections entries on all subsites where you activate Connections.

Can you guide me where to find and how to edit this file please

Where the file is depends completely on your installation. There is now way for me to tell you where it is at. The only thing I can say is it should be at the root of the WordPress install.

ParticipantHi again Steve
The support team at wpengine made that change for me and I can see the Connections directory listings across the multisite. However, I seem to have lost all the logo’s I had added to each entrySteve

Well, not likely lost. Just not in the path Connections is expecting them. It difficult to know for sure exactly where they are but they will be in a folder named
/connection_images/
likely in the content folder of one of you subsites. You need to move the contents of this folder to the path shown on the System widget on the Connections : Dashboard admin page. The path will be the value of theCN_IMAGE_PATH
constant.09/30/2013 at 2:39 pm #270338Steve Jones
ParticipantHi Steve
I’m really struggling with this. I have tried adding the images back in in your manage section but some work , some don’t
I don’t know where to find these directories and constants you refer to, so I’m stuck.
The sharing seems to work. I have access to the directory from all sites but I cant sort out these images. The login I created for you before is still valid and I wondered if you could help sort it out for me. Otherwise I don’t know where to turn

You’ll have share the login link and credentials again. I do not really keep those. I did try two sites with the one user/pass I did find but it didn’t work on either site.
The
CN_IMAGE_PATH
constant can be found on theConnections : Dashboard
admin page. One of the widgets on that page is theSystem
widget, that widget will have theCN_IMAGE_PATH
constant. After you have that info. Log in to your site with FTP and move any images from the subsites
connection_images
folder to the folder shown as theCN_IMAGE_PATH
constant. Where exactly theconnection_images
folder is on your subsites, I can tell you because that depends on your setup. How many images do you have, maybe it would just be easier to reupload those that are not working???

ParticipantI actually deleted all the directory entries, re-imported them and re-loaded all the images. Just finished and it now seems to work OK

That’ll work too. Trying to convert from multisite mode to single site mode on multisite after the fact is a pita. If more demand for this occurs I’ll have to look at ways to make this easier. But if it is setup from the get go … it usually just works.
