ParticipantHi Steve
Could you point me to any available documentation on SEO Opportunities with the Connections plugin? I’m finding that the rest of my site is getting picked up by google but nothing is showing for any of my listings.
Thanks!

Take a look at your Google Webmasters Console for errors. Ensure the Business Directory page is being indexed (and exists in your sitemap if you are using one).
Also, there is a fatal microformats error on your directory page:
Scroll down to line
367
. You’ll notice the redX
in the margin. Remove thehcard
text from the classes and then click the play button toward the button center of the page. That will rerun the test with that change. You will find that Google will now find all 11 hCards for the businesses instead of just the one. This is because hCard can not be a child of a hEntry. The theme is probably adding the hEntry class tag. You’ll have to correct that so Google can properly parse the business info to add to its search index for your site. As for the hCard warnings and errors for each business hCard, you can safely ignore those. The important bit is that Google is able to actually parse the hCards to begin with.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantWow….you are one hell of a lot smarter than I!
I deleted the class line that’s highlighted in this attachment but that caused further issues down the line (11 to be exact 8-)
I pasted the text back in…
Could you point out exactly what I should delete?
And also….wouldn’t I have to do it on the actual website rather than here to make it stick?
Thanks Steve you’re awesome!

The next
x
down, that is one of the warnings/errors listed in the test results. That one is ok. It just needs to say that 11 hards were found. Google’s test is strict in its results and even though those items are required or suggested, Google will still happily parse that data and index it.I think the biggest issue was that you can not have an hEntry with nested hCards. That is corrected by removing the class I mentioned that needed to be deleted.
Hope that helps!
ps. Make sure you still check your Google Webmaster Console for errors and to make sure the directory page is being crawled by the bot.
