I’m assuming you have both a French and English version of the entry, yes? And they exist on separate pages, yes? The maybe using the home_id shortcode option will address this issue. You would use the page ID of the respective page for French and English.
I hope that helps! Let me know.

ParticipantHello Steven!
1 – No, we do not enter the entry in both language because this site is a 5 languages site and we don’t want to manage all language. The “entry content” is bilingual but we the rest of the site (Menus, Widgets) must be in the good language. Now, when we click on “More details” we are literally directed on the french version… I was expecting an URL like
2- YES the archives “exist on separate pages”
3- What do you mean “use the page ID of the respective page” ? All language have there respective page with the same shortcode but with the only deference => str_read_more=’More details and offer flowers’
FRENCH : http://www.complexeaeterna.com/avis-deces/
ENGLISH : http://www.complexeaeterna.com/en/obituaries/
=> now click on “More details” => we are literally directed on the french version => I was expecting the short code will generate a “english” link.here is the shordcode on the English page
[connections show_dates=TRUE order_by='date_added|SORT_DESC,last_name|SORT_ASC' page_limit=13 excerpt_length=30 enable_category_select=FALSE show_title=TRUE str_read_more='More details and offer flowers']Thank you Steve.

On the English page, use this shortcode:
[connections show_dates='TRUE' order_by="date_added|SORT_DESC,last_name|SORT_ASC" page_limit=13 excerpt_length=30 enable_category_select='FALSE' show_title='TRUE' str_read_more="More details and offer flowers" home_id="XX"]
The only change I made was I added the home_id shortcode option.
Change the XX to the page ID of the English page. You can find the page ID in the browser address bar when editing the page in the WordPress admin. I think the ID is 526. That should force Connections to create links that resolve to the English page.
I think that should fix it.

ParticipantAnd you know what Steven, this problem was not there before.
When I’ve built this website 10 months ago, this problem was not there… My client contact me this week to tell me that bug… and no update was done since day one.
This is weird

You know, I didn’t realize the older versions were being used. The option I gave you wouldn’t work with that version because it didn’t exist. Honestly, I’m out of ideas. Newer, versions of Connections and the template have had tweaks to the permalink logic. If you have a dev site, you could try updating the dev site to see if it resolves the issue on the dev site. If you don’t, you could backup the productions site, files and db, so you can roles back if necessary. Then update Connections to see if that resolves the issue. If not, roll back.
