I plan to create a database in Connections of all the legal aid attorneys in the state. There are several hundred. I have a database already and I hope to upload it using an extension. (I have manually entered two records into Connections to test.) I also hope to allow the attorneys themselves update it, etc. and I think you have an extension for that. But I have basic questions first. (I also need to figure out how to limit certain fields so they are password protected.)
But in terms of accessing the database, I would just like some simple search boxes for people to use. For example, start with a general search for anything in the database. But also some specific searches or advanced searches that people can select certain fields. For example:
Search by name.
Search by main practice areas the attorney works in.
Search by program (there are a handful).
Search by city.
I am not clear what to do at this point, or if there is a template I need to use for this purpose.
Sorry for the delay in my reply!
Currently Connections only supports keyword searching globally or limit to the category in templates that support both which are cMap, Market and all the *Plus templates. The keyword search will search both the name and city for matches, maybe categories can be used limit search queries by program and practice area?
Hope this helps!
