ParticipantHi! I was just testing the search function in the backend for the list of members. It seems that the search only returns an entry if that search terms relates to the first word in the member’s list of categories. For example, I have 2 members with “Financial – Other” as one of several selected categories. However, if I search for the word “Financial” only one entry is returned. This is the entry that has this listed as their first category. The other entry has another category listed first (alphabetical) and therefore does not come up in the results. Also, if I search for the word “Other”, neither of them returns because this is not the first word. Can you help?

Category names assigned to entries are not one of the “fields” (for the lack of better term) that are search for when doing keyword searches. That is what the category filter drop down is for. In cMap (all premium templates, actually) that category drop down has its own searchable field so you cans search for category names without having to scroll thru the list of available categories.
To view a list of fields and control which ones are used for keyword search navigate to the Connections : Settings admin page and click the Search tab.
Hope that helps!
ps. why the one returns as a result when you search for “Financial”, it is very likely that that term is within one of the keyword searchable fields and it not for the other.
