Hello,
I am currently trying to implement a fairly simple wp site to emulate an original project which was produced in Synfony and is now outdated and totally unmanageable. Initially I want to have a few pages with a directory created from a database which I own. So far connections is achieving nearly all my needs with the ability to permit entry owners to edit their items plus csv import. I have purchased Cmap and csv templates and extensions. I now have one more requirement to complete the required architecture. At the moment the search facility effectively provides a filtered approach by entering keyword such as county plus city. I would need to have this presented as a form so is there any way this could be implemented as I have to try and keep internal liks and seo in my new site.

Hi Steven. I am trying to replace part of the site at antiques-united.co.uk with something similar in wordpress. If you got this site and select AUCTION HOUSES you will get an abbreviated list of all entries and a search form which filters by a number of selectable terms. I will probably add some things to this but in essence connections does achieve my needs as the current search filters by keywords which have to be entered as a string. Experience tells me that visitors in this niche market just will not do this let alone the difficulty of explaining how to do it. This feature is the last bit of site architecture needed to get close to a much needed monetising situation but where I can add other services in the future.

Ok, I see.

I do have an advanced search addon available to those who purchase either the pro pack or extension pro pack and request it. It’s not generally available due to it being a complex to setup, so I do offer setup as a service. If you know shortcodes well, it is really not that difficult. I can provide it and instruction if you purchase one of these those bundles. You can see an enable of it running on this live 3rd party site:

It has options to filter by state, but not city. Perhaps that will do?

No problem with purchasing one or both bundles especially if it would permit the search I need. As for city would it be possibly to amend the label but effectively load data into the State field to fool either the system or the user (one or the other). Would it be possible to add custom fields to the form to increase the search capacity.

As a continuation of the above I have purchased the Extension Pro Bundle. If possible as you reply to the above entry could you supply details of the search form you describe and I can try and integrate it with my site. I just sent you the info to your info????@w????.co.uk email address. Let me know if you do not receive it. Make sure you disable the category filter and keyword search field in the cMap template so the two to conflict.

Yes, that would be possible. Ideally ther search addon could have the city field added. The reason I did not is because it already has a zipcode/radius search and the cities in a directory could be in the hundreds/thousands would not be practical to load in a drop down.

Custom text fields, those are already searchable. The keyword search field would search the contents of those fields.
