    I’m working on a national directory for a professional services organization.  They want to have the directory users be able to easily search for a provider near them.  I’ve looked through the info on templates & add-ons, but I can’t seem to find  whether I can do this with Connections.  If the directory could display a map of providers, that would be super!

    If that kind of search isn’t supported, could all the listings be displayed on a U.S. map, so the user could drill down to find the location nearest them?

    How did this user (you posted a link on the cMap page) get the dropdown to include Location?  Is that one of the configuration options?  Or did they modify code to do this?

    Having a dropdown for locations by state/province would be super!

    I’ not certain of which site you’re speaking of specifically from the cMap page, but all of them are just using categories. Location based searches are actually baked in the core of Connections it just hasn’t been exposed in any meaningful way, yet.

    So the entries will automatically have a location based search option?  Or did the admins have to put the locations in as category labels?  I really like how this one lists cities under each state: http://pawtography.org/pawtographers-directory/.   That’s native to cMap?

    The admins added the locations as categories, they were not added automatically.
