    hi Steve
    I’ve used your plugin previously on another site… and with this new site we definitely want a more “business directory” type scenario – and will probably buy the Market template…

    but first – i’ve just purchased the Link extension, and for the life of me cannot sort out how to get things talking to one another. We have 160 members already active as “users”… and we made a decision recently to possibly eliminate buddypress and use Connections to achieve the directory-esque display we want.
    Trouble is… we ALSO use s2member to manage our membership payments/expirations, and content access, and i’m wondering if that might be a conflict???

    any suggestions?
    i am only experimenting with my own profile right now – i set the roles appropriately, i think, and then chose “edit my directory listing” from the “howdy user” menu :) saved… and… nothing appears on the page where the [connections] shortcode is inserted.

    is there a step missing? or might this be due to the s2member?

    Should be perfectly compatible. I know many users are doing exactly what you’re doing.

    Question. After you saved your entry … when you go back to the edit my directory entry admin page, does your info that you entered show? If it is, sis you set it to be “Public”?

    my answers: yes, all my info is still there, and all is set to public.
    ahhhh but … in the PUBLISH BOX… it was set to unlisted!

    yikes. is there somewhere to change that default to public?

    i reset to public and all is awesome now.

    That’s great to hear!

    re: unlisted … Not the current released version. The next version, 0.8, has a filter available that can be used to change the default. Right now, it requires a code change. If you change unlisted to public in this line, that’ll do the trick. When you update, you’ll lose this change, but it can be reapplied hooking into a filter instead so it’ll be update safe.
