ParticipantHi Steven – We are using Gridder for a directory on our site. When a new user is added to our site their default role is participant. Since there is not a role labeled participant within the Role & Capabilities section of Connections they are unable to see the directory.
Is there a way to make this work? We don’t want to have to manually go in and edit every users Site Role since we will have over 700 users.
Thanks,

Your “Participant” role sounds like the dynamic role that bbPress adds. Are you using bbBrees? If you are, that is a dynamic, secondary role. By default the user should also be assigned to the “Subscriber” role which you can use to configure access in Connections.
Hope this helps, let me know.

ParticipantSteven- We are using BBPress – the options to assign roles are: Keymaster, Moderator, Participant, Spectator and Blocked. So Subscriber is not an option. Any ideas on how to make this work?

ParticipantSorry Steven please disregard my last post. For some reason WordPress is not assigning new users any role at all even though we have the default set to subscriber in General/Settings/Default User role. Looks like is an issue within our site that needs to be corrected which will then in turn make the directory viewable.
Unless you have an idea of why WordPress is doing this I think you are off the hook for guidance.
Thanks.
