I have a simple Revolution Slider with 3 images from a gallery. It appears normally on a standard post or page. But on a Connections Entry it appears as white space with no visible elements. Is there some setting I need to be aware of in Connections that might affect it?08/03/2015 at 7:47 pm #342072
Could you share a link to the page having the issue?08/04/2015 at 4:01 am #342097
Well I guess I can break it down into two parts. Firstly, on the site http://www.siebelhub.com/main you will see a slider on the homepage. Now if you go to one of our connections pages under construction http://www.siebelhub.com/main/oracle-siebel-ecosystem-directory/name/openuithemes you will see a blank space at the bottom of the page. There is a slider there. If you go into the debugger you will see the slider initalizes fine. If you go into viwew source you will see the code is actually running and changing the values of thhe objects. So the slider works, just does not show up. I am using the out of the box slider shortcode to display this onne. I have tried the troubleshooting options on connections and on revolution slider but to no avail. Any suggestions?

My best guess is something is throwing off the calculations Rev Slider creates to set positioning. I sure since ThemePunch knows their product they might have an idea what the solution would be. If there are any tweaks that I need to make to Connections, I’ll make them. I just don’t see what they would be.
One question, I see you created your own custom template… just to eliminate another variable, does this also happen with the Default Template or any of the other than come with Connections?08/04/2015 at 9:32 am #342119
Oh, it it helps, the bio field text is run through all the same core WP filters that WP post content is. I wonder if the slider portion needs to be somehow run after those filters. That’s something ThemePunch would know.08/05/2015 at 4:42 am #342228
The standard Bio Card Entry 2.0.1. Template gives the same result, see the attached image for details. I appreciate that it might be an extreme sort of thing to want to put in a Bio, but it is a shame it does not work.

I happen to have a theme which has rev slider included…
Welp, I’m pretty good at debugging, but this one has me stumped!
I stripped away just about all template HTML, removed all CSS and other filters applied to the notes and only output the notes which had only the rev slider shortcode and it still would not render the slider correctly.
Like I said something is messing up the offsets or maybe not correctly settings heights. I noticed many slider elements had a height of
0and they shouldn’t.
One thing I did figure out… if I added the same slider to the page before the
[connections]shortcode both slider would work fine which to say the least is very odd.
wait, wait, wait…
I just stumbled on the solution!
On the Rev Slider admin page, there is a Global Settings button in the upper right of the page… across from the logo.
In the popup window set the Include RevSlider libraries globally option to on and click the Update button.
Now the slider should work!!! At least for me it does.
They must check the page before it is loaded to see if the their shortcode is on it so they only load their libraries on pages where the shortcode exists. Since the shortcode in bio/notes field does not exist in the page, it would not find it to load the libraries.
You can accomplish the same thing by setting the Pages to include RevSlider libraries option.
Hope that helps!
I’m going to add this as a FAQ so if any one runs into this I have it documented.
