ParticipantHello,
I really only want one address type in my directory and have no need for work, home, school etc.
Can I get rid of these options and default to address rather than address type?
Thanks
Martin

Not presently without resorting to editing the core plugin files. I do get this request/question from time to time. I’m not certain if I get enough to implement this yet. I’d let to keep the settings options to a minimum.

ParticipantThanks again on this one.
I wonder if this results partly, from the way the plugin and add-ons have developed? With the introduction of the Links add-on, and sites developing with users adding content, you might get the request a bit more often.
For my part, I think that it’s one more think for users to think of and in directory, if a listing had two addresses, I think I might be hoping for two listings?

I’ve seen users set this up both ways, multiple address in one entry and multiple entries of the same business, each with its own address. So I guess that would depend on the individual needs of each directory.

GuestI agree. I am not using this as a rolodex so maybe that is my issue. But if we can’t get rid of it, it would be nice to be able to define the different types of addresses. I am using it as a business directory and it really is more of a annoyance than a help of any kind.

KeymasterThe March release of Connections will have a method to de-register address, phone, email types as well as register new types.
Initially this will be a code thing that you’ll have to drop in the theme’s functions.php [which will be a horrible place to add it actually] but it’s a first step to allow user to add and remove what they need.

GuestI’ll add my agreement here. Getting rid of those address (and phone number) types would save me a lot more time than it might seem. About 1/3 of the time, I forget to change the listing from “home phone” to “work phone,” then I have to go back and switch it. :)
Having said that, this is a fantastic plugin! Thank you!
