Participantwill definitely submit a quality review Steven.
I wanted to swing back here on timing for the 8.4.1 update timing as well.

I did release it a couple hours ago. If your Go to the WordPress Updates admin page and check the Check Again button… it should show up as a new update.
And thanks for taking the time to leave a review! Look forward to it.

ParticipantHey Steven, we still are having the same issue if we set permalinks to %postname%. The behavior is only correct when permalinks are set to page ID.
What do you think we can do?
We are using the force home method from the Our Attorneys page for search/category sorting. And, we had to restrict it to only Attorneys, thus filtering out the other staff. So, we can’t use it on the Directory at the same time.
If you go to the version it set on a live domain at your previous suggestion, you can see how the Directory is behaving still, when permalinks are set to %postname%.

Let me know your thoughts on this. Right now, it seems we can only implement the search either on Our Attorneys or Directory, but not both, unless we’re set to page ID for premalinks.
In the shortcode on the Directory page we have “home_id=329” but you can see if you do a search from there, it does not pick up that ID in the URL.

This will not be passed via the URL, the form action should be to the permalink for page ID 319.
Looking at the form action in the page source, it is blank and it should not be.
I tested again and it does work… can I have a temp admin login so I can take a closer look?

To clarify… the page ID will only be passed via the URL if you’re using the default permalink structure… which is not ideal for any site really.

ParticipantYou can definitely take a look. Should I email that info to you?

Two things…
I had to temporarily activate WP Super Cache, set its status to disabled and then deactivate it. I’ve always found that necessary with that plugin otherwise it will never stop serving the cached page if it exists. And since it is not activated, the cached files will never expire or be purged.
Stupid me. When testing the fix, I let the old code in and when I committed the changes I committed the old code instead of the new code… face palm… any way I fixed it and you are good to go.
Apologies for the trouble.
