I think i am nailing this down. My website uses a page builder called SI page builder.
there seems to be some kind of conflict with my themes page builder.
on my test page
http://www.amsn.com.au/brentstest
it displays how I want using the short code below
[connections category='16' template="excerpt-plus"]yet when that exact code cut/copied is placed into the text box on the theme builder on the page i want it to appear it looks like this.
http://www.amsn.com.au/academic-members/
any ideas ?

Well I see a few big issues…
The page builder text box seems to be stripping out links such as the person’s name and the read more link.
It also seems to be stripping out the content.
And the template’s javascript is being loaded on the page.
Honestly, never seen anything like this before. I think only the support for the SI page builder.
I tried searching for it, so I could see if there are known issues with shortcode output in its text box, but I could find it.

ParticipantHi Steve
thanks so much for getting back to me.
I have done a temporary work around just to disable the page builder and go with generic wordpress page. this has created some strange things with the page layout ( width etc) but it does now render your plugin correctly.

I will contact my web developer Naummeer to see if you he has any better options. thanks for looking into this for me
kind regards,

Participantg’day steve.
No the work around got us out of trouble. disabling the page builder and rebuilding the page in the wordpress default seemed to do the trick.
Must be a nightmare for you plugin developers with all the elaborate themes on the market these days.
Just for your interest the theme was EDU by smooth themes and the page builder was mentioned in the previous post.
lets consider this resolved :)
thanks again for your time and developing such a great plugin
hope you have a great xmas break
cheers mate
