Hello, this is a staging site, these folks just want basic contact details showing on the current page examples, but want there to be a VCard button so that others browsing can click and download any specific person’s details.

Can someone please help advise on how I get this clickable link or VCard button to show per request?

Last question – Emails are visible, if there’s a proven solution to help guard against harvesting for spambots, please pass that along too. Thank you in advance!

Also – how can I get these directory results to show in a specific order that is not alphabetical? I want to have them manually displayed in their requested order?

Navigate to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Display tab. Scroll down to the Single Entry Actions section and enable the Add to Address Book action.

Now when viewing the the single entry profile page, the user will be presented a link which will download a vCard.

There is the ROT13 Email Encryption addon.

Or you can hide the email addresses completely and use the Contact addon

You can use the order_by shortcode option. Example 2 shows how to list specific entries in a specific order.

Alternatively you could use the Custom Entry Order addon.

Thank you Steven – one follow-up question. You said this will be displayed on the single entry profile page. I had the option to show a profile as a separate page turned off, is there any way to show this download as a VCF in the list view on team or directory page versus on a separate profile page? As seen, they only have a couple of things to display per profile and was hoping to have it all on that initial page.

The only way to accomplish that would be to edit the PHP of the template and add the link. Sorry.

Thanks again Steven, I wish that was possible but will tell them this is not an option. One last thing, I cannot found where I turned off the setting to have each contact be displayed on a separate page where you mentioned this VCF link will reside. Can you point me to which setting I change to get this corrected again? Thanks!

But I am still not seeing any of these contacts showing up as a link where someone can click to get the details and then “add to address book”. Any tips here on how to show these as clickable please advise.

Navigate to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Advanced tab. Disable the Name option under the Permalinks section.

I recommend that you disable that option … especially since you do not wish to link to the single entry profile page.

You will only see this above the entry on the single entry profile view of the template, which you have disabled.
