GuestDear Steven,
I am using the template “names” to show only a list of names at the beginning. Now I thought when clicking at a name the address entry should open. But it doesn’t. After the click only the name is shown alone at the page and furthermore there is no link to get back to the list.
You can try it at www.http://ubeonline.de/uber-uns/ube-vorstandschaft/ube-mitglieder/Please tell me what to do to make your wonderful plugin work the way it should work.
Thank you in advance for your help

I can see your directory because it requires a login but I don’t think I need to see it.
I’m assuming you activated the “Names” template under the “All” template type.
It sounds like it is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do, you just need to make one minor configuration change. On the Connections : Settings admin page under the Display tab, check the Single Entry option and save.
Now on the Connections : Templates admin page, under both the Individual and Organization template types, activate your desired template.

GuestHi Steven,
I could not resolve the problem yet. Please go to
http://ubeonline.de/uber-uns/ube-vorstandschaft/ube-mitglieder
Login with
Name: guest
Pass: SZkuWs!
Now you can see what I mean. The display with names only is correct; then click at a name and the next page only shows one more time the single name instead of the complete profile;
AND you have to use the “back”-key to go back instead of a “go back”-button.
If you gave me your personal email address I would send you an administration login to resolve the problem – if there is a solution (and I’m sure you have one!).Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Did you try the solution I gave you?
You just need to make one minor configuration change. On the Connections : Settings admin page under the Display tab, check the Single Entry option and save.
Now on the Connections : Templates admin page, under both the Individual and Organization template types, activate your desired template.
The Names template really was only designed for use using the “View All” list action list. I considered making that template hidden so it couldn’t be activated. The reason because it would be confusing. Maybe the next update I’ll pull it, what’s your thought? Thanks for your feedback.

GuestHi Steven!
I think I’ve got it. Thank you for your help.
Now only a kind of “Back” or “show complete list” Button is missing!
Greetings
Volker

Other than the browser back button, there is not one displayed.

GuestVolker,
Maybe I’m misunderstanding the problem, but what I understand is that you would like the contacts list to display as a list of names using the ‘Names’ template and you would further like the option of a visitor to be able to select one of the listed contacts so that when clicked the contact’s entry card information is displayed, right? If so, this is what I did:
1. selected the ‘Names’ template (this puts contacts into a list)
2. went to Connections>Settings>Advanced and check the Links>Names box (this makes the contact’s name clickable
3. per Steven’s instructions check the Single Entry box under Connections>Settings>Display (this will display the full entry card info of the contact name, rather than just displaying the person’s name again, when you clicking on name from the contact names list
