ParticipantHi –
I searched through the forums and found this reply from you in regards to the functionality of the Preferred Radio button:
If you add multiple items, you can flag one as preferred. That’s all. The only place you actually see an item as preferred is when you edit an entry or when you click the Show Details link on the Connections : Manage admin page. It’ll add an asterisk next to the preferred item. The idea behind the feature was if an entry had both a mobile number and work number , one of the numbers could be marked as the preferred number. It’s a feature that really doesn’t seem that gets much if any use so it has not been extended out to the templates. I hope that helps!
I believe this was posted in 2014. Has this changed? We would like to see the asterisk on the front-end for the preferred phone and address, etc. How might we be able to do this?
Thanks!

This statement is still somewhat true. The Gridder template will display the preferred phone/email if one is set and if one is not, then it simply show only the first one. Similarly, the Circled template does this for the email address. On both, when viewing the detail/profile view all will be displayed.
That said, nothing like this has been implemented in cMap but…
I just added classes to the output of every field which supports a preferred status setting. So, you will be able to use CSS to target the preferred address/phone to make them stand out or add a asterisk before or after (also with CSS). This tweak will be included in the next update.
Hope that’ll help!
