ParticipantSteven,
The issue I am currently experiencing was corrected in the previous versions of Connections by unchecking:
Google Maps API v3, in Settings > Advanced tab > CompatibilityUnfortunately with Connections update 0.7.6.3 that does not work.
In IE 9, Firefox 19.0.2, and Chrome 25.0.1364.172 m, when a visitor selects the “Show Map” link in a listing no map appears, it jumps to top of page, but the map area does open.
Interestingly in Opera 12.14, if you select the “Show Notes”, or “Show Map” it jumps to top of page and neither one opens. At present, if I deactivate, the Comprehensive Google Map Plugin Version 7.0.31, and check the Google Maps API v3 box, then save, it works. So, I know it is conflicting with this plugin.
Yet using prior versions of Connections, both plugins worked fine as long as Google Maps API v3 was unchecked. Here is my link:

Thanks In advance!

Right now looks like everything works when I visit except the Google Maps which makes sense if the API is turned off. Can you please turn it back on and let me know hen you do?
Why it worked before and doesn’t now, even though I give the option not to load the Google Map API, it still has to be loaded by the other plugin or theme first. If the other plugin or theme does not load it before Connections needs it, the map for cMap will fail. Basically I’m crossing my fingers hoping it is loaded in the right order. That’s something I do not have control over, the load order of other plugins, WordPress handles that.
Another user just recently experienced a similar issue, but with Uber Menu. Unfortunately Uber menu loaded the API too late to be used for cMap and because it was being loaded twice, the maps didn’t work correctly. Luckily the dev from Uber Menu must experience the same troubles because they also give the ability to disable the loading of the Google Maps API. So in that users case, switching it off in Uber Menu was the solution.

ParticipantDid this conflict get resolved?
I am having the same problem with the Comprehensive Google Map Plugin.
If I deactivate it and check “Google Maps API v3” in the advanced settings tab then my maps work in Connections.
If the conflict is not resolved, do you know another mapping plugin that does not conflict?
Regards

What is the outcome w/ Comprehensive Google Map Plugin activated and the Google Maps API v3 option unchecked?

ParticipantWith Comprehensive Google Map Plugin activated and and the API v3 option unchecked, Connections does not display the map.

GuestRobin,
I could not get the Connections plugin to work with Comprehensive Google Map plugin. So, I discovered a better (free) map plugin:
It is more robust, and perhaps more complex than I really need, but does play well with Connections.Note: Prior versions of Connections, and cMap, worked fine with the Comprehensive Google Map plugin. You might try contacting the plugin developer, Alexander Zagniotov about offerng a way to turn off, Google Maps API v3..?
