GuestI have purchased the cMap template and the search widgets to attempt to get better search. However, it seems like much of the search by default is an “or” search.
What I would really like to do is somehow be able to limit the search to “and” results. What I want is to have some way to find items that are in 2 specific categories. Right now I get results from ones in either selected category. Is there some kind of a trick I can use to make it have to be in 2 specific categories? This would be ideal for me.
If not, is there some way I can make the keyword search results an “and” search where all of the keywords have to be there?
I’m experiencing delays with launching a site because of this issue.
Thank you for your assistance,

You can try using an undocumented beta feature in cMap.
Add the following to the[connections]
shortcode:
enable_category_multi_select='true'
You should have something like this:
[connections enable_category_multi_select='true']
When you select two categories, the entry results will be that an entry would have to be within both categories to show as a result.
Hope that helps!

GuestThanks you so much! This is exactly what I needed. I hope this beta feature becomes official just as it is now.

Little secret is that its been a beta feature for about two years now … it’s built into the heart and soul of the Connections so it is not going anywhere soon, soon it should be safe to count on it for the foreseeable future.
If you have a moment, I would truly appreciate a review as they really do make a difference. Many thanks in advance!
