ParticipantCan you tell me why the search and the “No Results” message shows below the login on this page? http://chandlernazarene.com/member-directory/ Is there a way to remove these components when login is required to view the data?

I’m assuming you are using a shortcode which is outputting the login form on this page, correct? If so…
- Edit this page.
- Copy the shortcode you used and then delete it from the page so only the
[connections]
shortcode exists on the page. - Go to the Connections : Settings admin page.
- Enable the Login Required option under the General tab.
- Paste the shortcode for the login form in the Login Require Message.
- Save the changes.
Hope that helps!

GuestI’m still having trouble with this. Maybe I am not following directions well. This is what is on the Members page: [connections category='1' template='slim-plus' color='#76D2C5' page_limit='40' enable_search=TRUE image_fallback='none' enable_category_select=FALSE show_addresses=TRUE show_social_media=TRUE str_cell_phone='Cell Phone' str_home_phone='Home Phone'str_personal_email='Email' order_by=last_name] This is what is in the Login Required Message: Thank you for visiting our member directory. You must log in to view member contact information. If you would like to access our directory, please contact us to request the login information. [connections_login] If you go to the page without logging in, the login form no longer shows up and neither does the message. What am I doing wrong?

The setup described appears correct but it seems the Login Required option on the Connections : Settings admin page under the General tab is not enabled and it should be for the setup you want.
Hope that helps.

ParticipantIt is enabled. It was enabled the whole time. I disabled it, saved, then re-enabled it to follow your instructions above…

Ok… did you by chance enable either of the Shortcode Visibility Overrides under the Display tab? If you did, make sure they are both disabled.

ParticipantThat fixed that problem, but created another.
We have 2 directories – a member directory that lists individuals and I’m creating business listings, which we want displayed publicly.
When I unchecked both of the shortcode visibility overrides, both databases are now requiring logon.
Is there a way to have part of the database require logon and others not? They are each assigned to a different category.

re: Is there a way to have part of the database require logon and others not?
There is only one way I can think of dealing with this…
Disable the Login Required option on the Connections : Settings admin page.
Edit the member directory page, set the Visibility status of the page to Private in the Publish metabox. That way, only logged in users can view the page.
Just make sure that your private entries in Connections are set to private so only logged in user can view those.
With this setup, you’ll have to provide you users with another method for logging since they will not be able to get to the member directory page until they are logged in. Maybe add a login widget to the theme’s side bar would be a decent solution.
Hope that helps!
