GuestHow do I change the order of how the connections (members) are listed? Currently the president shows up 3rd in the list. Need to move him up to the top.
Thanks!

Checkout the order_by shortcode option. You can specify an order with this option. That should do the trick.

GuestThanks for your response. Not being a programmer, still not real sure how to order the positions like this order:
1. President
2. Vice President
3. Past President
4. Secretary
5. TreasurerCould they be assigned an ID? And if so where in the manage area would I assign an ID to each?

The entries are already assigned an ID automatically. The ID can be found after clicking the Show Details link, it’ll be on the far right. Then follow example 2 on the order_by shortcode option dioc page. No programming necessary.
Hope that helps!

GuestHi…still having some issues with formatting. I am working on a test page to pull in 4 members (with their IDs) in the “MBA Governors” category and used the following: [connections id='9,71,5,69'order_by='id|SPECIFIED'] in the page.
If you look at http://mbaofjax.org/mba-governors/ you will see it is pulling in all the current members (not the Governors)and the formatting runs off the page. Earlier I had it pulling in just the Governors but the formatting was also running off the page like it is currently.
Thanks!

I’m assuming you were copy/pasting code from the web page into the Visual post editor in WordPress, yes? When you do that, you also copy the HTML tags and paste those too.
You need to remove those stray tags from around and from within the shortcode. WordPress does not support have the HTML within the shortcode.
See this QuickTip on working with shortcodes.
This FAQ, the top couple paragraphs, explain how to fix this.
Basically, if you completely delete the shortcode while in the Text tab of the post editor and manually re-type it things will be fine. This is the best way to work with shortcode no matter what plugin you’re working with.
Hope that helps!

GuestThanks….removing the HTML helped. However, the drop down for the select categories is not working correctly. Is there a way to remove the drop down option altogether?

The category drop down seems to be working for me in Chrome. Which browser is it not working for you?
You can remove the category drop down with the enable_category_select shortcode option which is enabled by cMap.
Hope that helps!

Just thought of something ….
If you’re limiting the list by specific IDs and ordering them in a specific order… the category drop would appear not to work. The shortcode option are hard limits. They can override user choices such as filtering with the category drop down. Hope that make sense and helps!

GuestYes, I am filtering just the Officers list by ID ( they wanted a specific order) and the two other lists by category ID. The Officers list is correct if that list is selected from the to menu. However when you it with the drop down, the order is not correct.
That is why I was wondering if the drop down option can be hidden. Can it be hidden or removed?
Thanks
