ParticipantHello,
I am looking to change the order of the members listed in each category from A-Z to priority based on sub-category. Ex. Under a listing of High School Teachers I would like to order it so that the High School Teachers that are also in the Science category are listed first, then Math, etc. Rather than all of them being listed alphabetically.
Thanks for your help!

You can probably achieve the ordering you desire by using the Custom Entry Order extension. If I understand correctly, to achieve what you want you would give every entry within the category the same order value. Using the order values you can determine which categories are higher priority. So, based in your example, you would assign an order value of
1
to the entries assigned to High School Teachers and an order value of2
to the entries assigned to theMath
category. The result would be all entries within High School Teachers to be listed first in alphabetical order followed by all entries within the Match category in alphabetical order.Hope that make sense and helps!

ParticipantHey Steven,
I purchased the Category Order addition as that seemed like it would be a good solution. For some reason I am having trouble getting it to work. I installed it and activated it, then gave child-categories an order, but for some reason I am not seeing it sort by the order at all when I go to the Parent category. Any idea what could be going on there?
Thanks,

No, you should have purchased the Custom Entry Order extension not the Custom Category Order extension.
Would you like to make exchange it?

Thank you

Sure, I just processed the exchange. You should have received a revised sales receipt email. Let me know if you do not receive it.
