ParticipantI apologize in advance if this has already been asked.
Is there a way to set it so “show_alphaindex” only shows in the category referenced in the same short code? For instance, in the short code:
[connections category=3 show_alphaindex='true' show_alphahead='true' template='slim' image='photo' image_fallback='none']
I’d like to only have the letters for the entries in category 3. Right now I’m getting entries for all entries regardless of category.
Thank you.

Currently that is not possible. I’ve added this to my issue tracker. The difficulty in adding this would be determining when to limit the character to the current category. User interaction with the directory has to be taken into consideration.

GuestSteven,
Thanks for the quick response!!
Would it be possible then to have all of the letters active even for names not in the current category? I can anticipate my client asking for this.
I suppose one work around would be to dispense with show_alphaindex and to upgrade to slim plus and use it’s search functions.
Also, one thing that would be nice with show_alphaindex a “refresh” button so that say, after I hit the “C” button I can go back to the full listing without having re-select the from the menu (“re-fresh doesn’t do it). I’m thinking I might be able to do this add using “say what” (haven’t played with that yet though).
Anyway, Connections is Great Plugin!!!! It’s already saved my life!!

Right, I do need to add a “clear” link. It is on my todo list as well as adding some sort of message stating that you’re searching in category x for terms y and z.
If you have a moment, I would truly appreciate a review as they really do make a difference. Many thanks in advance!
