ParticipantWe have had an odd problem and I am trying to figure out what went wrong. We updated our name database… and something must of happened when we moved it to a new server, because the changes we made to the names/address reverted back to a previous version.
Any clue how this could of happened? We also did a update in between of connections — could that have cause a problem????
The odd thing was, I had several entries that had two addresses… and we had to reorder the address… so I dragged and dropped… Could this also be a problem with it not keeping the right order?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!! thank you!!!!

Try this … go to the Connections : Roles admin page, on the right-side there is a checkbox to reset all role capabilities. Click it so there is a checked and then click the save changes button.
Does that fix the problem? (Any duplicate data will still exist in entries since it is already saved in the db).

ParticipantHI Steven!
yes that worked… Do I need to worry about this on future updates?

Keymaster@ Cheryl
No, that wasn’t an update issue with Connections … when moving servers, something happened with the role capabilities. The custom capabilities required by Connections were removed or didn’t exist. Resetting the capabilities restored those custom capabilities.

ParticipantCould this also of effected a missing image as well????

Keymaster@ Cheryl
No, that would be very unlikely. Why, are you having an issue with images?

Participantyes… An Image was missing….
The only other thing I did before we changed it to a live site — was backed up the site using another plug in called Duplicator…. could there be a conflict???
Thanks!

An image … or all images? If it was a single image … its seems Duplicator missed it somehow or maybe got corrupt during the archiving from the source site or corrupted when being restored to the destination site.
If all image were missing then Duplicator did not archive the
../wp_content/connection_images/
folder from the source site. I would imagine it would archive the entirewp-content
folder. I have no personal experience with that plugin but I would be surprised if it did not.07/31/2014 at 7:46 pm #299286cheryl forziati
ParticipantHi Steven — Yes the images seem to be there! Phew at least. It was only one image — the rest were there. I used Duplicator to make a copy of the site from the live site — Still glad that the images were there… I’m have a challenge explaining to a cranky client why it reverted…. but at least there’s an explanation! Thank you!!!!!

Participantone other question… in the image area… how do you access the photos that are already uploaded? I seem to only have access to my desktop for that?
