ParticipantI have over 200 organization contacts to import. I’m really needing this to work.
I downloaded the template. Using Office Excel 2007 copied the information from another spreadsheet that I have. I saved it as a .csv. (No further options were given on save, just a warning about what csv actually saves.)
When I go to import the file in WordPress through Connections, I leave the default choices. It only imports the name of the first contact and the progress bar stays stuck on (Please wait) and nothing happens. In the directory the first organization appears, including their category and social media link. No other information comes through, no other organizations are added. Only the one (out of 206.)
So I try again, only this time I have changed the default setting from “Field enclosed by: Double quote” to “Single Quote.”
When I import having selected Single Quote all the organizations import, but only their name. They are all given the same category even though they shouldn’t have one and I haven’t set a default category anywhere (if that is a possibility.)
What am I doing wrong? I’m really liking this plugin and decided to buy the extension pack and a premium template because theoretically this plugin does exactly what I am needing for my site. But most important, it is the CSV import option that I am needing most.

My suggestion is to follow the guidelines in the CSV File Requirements and Tips section in the documentation. Closely following those points solved more than 99% of any trouble importing a CSV file.
If you reply back and attach the CSV file you are trying to import, I’ll take a look and offer specific advice. Please rename it from
.csv
to.txt
before attaching so the support forum will accept the file.02/16/2017 at 11:58 am #411683Gentry

I just posted a private reply. I’m actually unsure if you will be able to see it or not. Let me know if you can not.
