ParticipantHi Steven,
I created a 5 row test import (csv), importing only organizations, and it goes thru the import cycle, showing “Import Complete”, but then there are no listings. I’ve tried many different times, with different settings, and it always has the same result.
I am attaching the file, so you can see. I am only including the fields I want to import into, so I’m not sure if that’s part of the issue or not.
Thanks for your help,

Beta guess is that you are mapping the
Entry IDcolumn and the entry IDs in that column do not exist in the database. You should only use the Entry ID column to update existing entries, not to import new one.Hope that helps, let me know!

ParticipantHi Steve,
I’ve tried it both ways. If I’m not updating, should I leave that column out of the csv file, even though the fields are blank?
Thanks, Dave

I did a test import and it imported fine by setting the Entry ID to not be mapped. I did have to manually map the Entry Type column due to the type in the CSV file. Leaving the Entry ID column off is best that way it will guarantee that it not used.

ParticipantAhh, that worked. Now, when I want to “update” a listing, what do I use as a ‘key’ field…one that knows which entry I’m updating? I am only updating Organizations.
And, if I’ve already assigned an image to an entry, and then update it, does that interfere with the image that’s attached?
Thanks for your help?
DavePS – I’ve been using WP All Import on a couple of other sites, and I was wondering if you had thought of letting them map Connections to use in their plugin? I think they will actually map it for free. Just a thought.

You use the Entry ID field populate with the entry ID assigned to the entry by the WordPress database.

Nope :)

WP All Import only works with post/pages and custom post types. Connections is none of them. It uses custom tables where the schema has been optimized for directories whereas WordPress pages, posts and CPT has been optimized for posts.
Hope that helps!
