ParticipantHi,
I’m quiet newbie in wp and with connections.
I don’t understand how to manage this pb.
My blog has a directory – only contributor-status can edit their entry (and normaly only their own)
It works well… for the moment. But I’ve noticed that after the creation of the entry – no body has the “edit my entry” we only have “add my entry” – and the form is blank – the only way is to go connection>manage and edit entry…
The fact is I don’t show this item for “contributors” because I don’t want that everybody can change the entry of someone else.
The simple question : why “edit my entry” isn’t available for user AFTER the creation of entry.
Hope someone could hell me… I’ve spent lot of time searching before posting.10/23/2017 at 7:33 am #438567Sébastien Franck
ParticipantComplement :
– I use role editor – And I thought it was a pb of role capacity – but that pb no “edit my entry” is for administrator-rôle too !Thanks in advance for your help,
a lost (french) user

Follow the steps very closely for configuration instructions for the Link extension (see that you have this activated on your site).
After you do that, since you have the Form extension, make sure you have disabled “Submit New Entry” the list action.
For the user to edit their own entry there are two requirements.
- The directory entry must have an email address that matches exactly the email address of the user in the WorDpress user Profile admin page.
- That user must log in to the site to edit the entry.
Hope this helps, let me know.

ParticipantHi,
Sorry for the delay – it works the only fact is that “email address that matches exactly the email address of the user in the WordPress” – so simple…
