The web host configuration is preventing Connection from creating those folders automatically on activation. You’ll have to manually create those two folders and set the permissions so they are writable. I would try 755 first and then 767 if needed.
Hope that helps.
If you have time for a review, I would truely appreciate it! Many thanks in advance.

ParticipantHi Steve
WPEngine do not allow this for security reasons. They suggested I reset permissions which I did but still no luck. Should I try reinstalling connections from scratch or will I loose my data if I do that?
Please bare in mind I am a wordpress novice and not very technical :(

Installing Connections will not solve it. Are you permitted to create folders via FTP with WPEngine. I imagine you are allowed permitted.

ParticipantHi Steve
We worked out with wpengine that by deactivating connections on the network and activating it in each site the errors no longer appear. However, I can’t add images to directory entries. Manage let’s me select the images but they don’t seem to be saved when I go back into the entry or try to display them on the site? I am using the slim plus template activated on each site

Ah, yes. You didn’t mention that you were using multisite … Connections has to be activated per subsite, not network wide.
I know others are using Connections on WPEngine without issue, so I know it works fine. I’m sure its just a permissions thing since they are locked down to the nth degree.
Can you please share a link to you directory where Slim Plus is being used?

ParticipantHere’s a page where the directory is being used http://ecoshowcase.com.au/host-cities/brisbane/

I don’t understand the paths being shown in the code…
This is your site:
http://ecoshowcase.com.au/host-cities/brisbane/However you images are being served from:
http://3648q6r93gb46vd534eexm5x75.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/Which is their CDN, I get that… that’s going to cause a problem. I’ll get to that…
But the image path being passed to TimThumb is:
http://www.compago.co.uk%20/wp-content/blogs.dir/3/connection_images/Advanced_logo.jpgTwo things…
What is that URL and how is is related to you?
You might have a typo in your settings somewhere. That %20 is a space, you can’t have a space there as it breaks the link.
Back to the problem. For security, I have disabled the ability of TimThumb to pull images from external sites. That was the path used to exploit TimThumb before it was patched over a year ago.
Two things need to be done to get this working…
Either get the images to point to the ecoshowcase.com.au domian or remove that space from the end of the http://www.compago.co.uk%20 domain.
TimThumb will have to be configured to allow external images from you domain only. I can make that change for you. Does WPEngine allow the use of the plugin editor? If they do, can you please install the WP Editor plugin and give me a temp admin account?

ParticipantCompago.co.uk is the site that I loaded connection onto first, which worked fine with Connection Network Activated. I then added a site a ecoshowcase.com.au to the same WP install and connections gave the path errors. Today a deactivated connections on the network and re-activated on each site. The error messages went away but I can’t load the images
I can’t see any spaces at the end of compago.co.uk, see sreenshot
I can set you up as a user in WP and SFTP but I need an email address, shall I use xxxxx

No, please use xxxxx. After I receive the details, I’m going to remove both email addresses from the posts so that can’t be scrapped.
