I’m building out a pretty functional page/directory listing for businesses that has different categories within a business category : Featured, Enhanced and then Free. Each category is displayed with a different template & different settings. The code essentially looks like this:
[connections category='12' enable_search='false' enable_category_select='false' lock='TRUE']
[connections category='11' order_by='id|RANDOM' enable_search='false' enable_category_select='false' link='false' lock='TRUE']
[connections lock='TRUE' category='10' template="excerpt" order_by='id|RANDOM' link='FALSE' lock='TRUE']
The resultant page looks great:
I have enabled “links” on the Featured listing only so the user can get to a full page, which is here:
But because of the way the code is laid up on the parent page, it is also showing the other listings again in the Tile and Excerpt formats. Is it possible for the individual link/company page to show just the one listing in the full cmap format by itself?
We’re trying to build out a system where we can push a “featured listing” for a substantial rate, but if we can’t give much more than what is on the cMap, then it’s not that much more functional. (Even though the data is essentially the same, the fact that they will have a dedicated page means alot.)Any other options?

By default, the links will route back to the current page. What you need to do is define a new location for the links to route to. Think of it as a “results” page of sorts where you only have the
The easiest thing to do is create a new “results” page with the
[connections]shortcode. It can be named anything you want. Now, go to the Connections : Settings admin page and change the Directory Home Page to the new “results” page. Lastly, update your current page with the category shortcodes to force the links to route to the directory home page, like so:
[connections category='12' force_home=TRUE] [connections category='11' force_home=TRUE] [connections category='10' force_home=TRUE]
If you need to point the links to a page other than the directory home page for your setup. Alternatively, you would create a new “results” page with the
[connections]shortcode. It can be named anything you want. Take note of the new page ID. Lastly, update the category shortcodes to force the links to route to the new page instead, like so:
[connections category='12' home_id=X] [connections category='11' home_id=X] [connections category='10' home_id=X]
X would equal the new page ID. TIP: with this method, you could actually have a separate “results” page for each shortcode instance.
Oh, I shortened the shortcode examples for brevity, you can still use all the other options you have set. The shortcode on the “results” page can also have options set as well, if you require it.
I hope that makes sense. Connections is pretty flexible so many things can be done a couple ways depending on what you’re trying to accomplish.
I hope that helps!
