ParticipantHi, I really like Connections from what I have seen and hope it will work for me.
I’m working on a WordPress site for a group of 45-50 churches in the New York City area including parts of NJ and CT. So I have set up categories and subcategories set up in three main categories:
(a)Churches: NY (Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, Westchester), CT, NJ (b)Bookstores: NY (Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, Westchester), CT, NJ
(c)Related organizations: NY, CT, NJ1. Should they all be under one directory if I want three different tabs in the menu bar? Or do I make three separate directories for this purpose?
2. Can I have the first level just show a list with just a line or two of info that when clicked on would take viewer to full listing? I need viewer to see the overview of things. The current website is at http://www.csnyc.com
3. What template or additional items do I need? I would get cmap to show locations. I feel totally clueless but hope this will work.
This site you highlighted looks like it might be the kind of thing I need: http://prhstaugustine.org/assistance-pages/ but I couldn’t see how it worked. It said I needed to log in, but I was logged in to Connections and still couldn’t see it.
I would appreciate your thoughts and recommendations.
Thank you

Apologies for the delay in my reply.
Since you have three categories set up and you want three menu items the best option is to use the category shortcode option. Create three new pages, put the Connections shortcode on each using the category shortcode option set with the appropriate category ID number.
To setup the viewing as you described … go to the Connections : Settings admin page and under the Display tab check the Single Entry option. Now go to the Connections : Templates admin page and activate the Names template under the All template type and under the Individual and Organization template type, activate the cMap template. That should do it.
Hope that helps.
