I have just “inherited” a WordPress site that uses the Connections plugin. We have decided to move the site content to a new multisite server. I have moved the main WordPress content via export and import, but I am struggling to find a way to move the Connections entries and categories from the old server to the new. Am I correct in assuming the only ways to do migrate is to export and import SQL tables or manually recreate all the entries and categories?
Yes, you need to export the custom tables using phpMyAdmin or similar tool and then import those tables. It only takes a few minutes with most that time spent logging in and out of the host control panels. No need to recreate the entries manually. You’ll also need to copy the images from the
../wp-content/connections_images/ folder to the same folder on the new server.
Hope that helps!
