Have 500 members of our organization. Each member has been assigned a membership number. We will need to import the list of members as a CSV. After the list is imported, is it possible for new member numbers to be assigned automatically? for example, if the last member # in use is 502, can 503 be automatically assigned to the next member entered?
If you’re talking about the entry ID number that Connections creates when adding an entry, yes, that is auto incremented as each new entry is added. But there is now way to assign an ID number as the auto increment is handled by the database and not Connections or WordPress.
I hope that answers your question.
Thanks Steven. So if we imported a CSV file, would we be able to import our current member numbers into the ID number field? From that point, would the ID number then auto increment from the last number imported?
No, the db would start at 1 and increment from there. Off the top of my head, I do not think there is a way to have a start ID on an auto increment field in the db.
