ParticipantOn the general cMap list view, each entry has a ‘Show Map’ link, which, when clicked, causes the Google map to be revealed. All good.
However, when an individual entry name is clicked and it goes to the single entry view, below the text details (organization name, address etc.), there is a large blank box. Having looked at the generated source code, it appears that this is supposed to contain the Google map, but it seems that the JavaScript to load the map within the containing div element is not being triggered.
What I was expecting/hoping was that in list view, the map for each entry is hidden until the ‘Show Map’ link is clicked, while in single entry view the map is displayed straight off when the page loads. What I am experiencing is that in single entry view, the map container is displayed when the page loads, but without the map content and with no means for the user to load it.
I have a test installation at http://ftd.websmithery.co.uk/connections which demonstrates this. This is a fresh, ‘vanilla’ installation of WordPress 3.9, with everything at its default setting and using the Twenty Twelve theme. The only other plugin is The Events Calendar (Modern Tribe), and deactivating this makes no difference.
I would be grateful if you could advise.

Ok, I think this is related to a separate bug which I will be fixing and pushing an update out today. It’ll be version 0.8.2, I’ll post back here when I release it.

I just released the bug fix release, 0.8.2. This should resolve the issues you had with cMap. FYI, I will be releasing an update to cMap, likely within a week which will address a few minor bugs as well as adding support for a few new features built in to Connections.
Oh, if the update does not show up for you, go to the WordPress Updates admin page and click the Check Again button.

ParticipantThank you very much for your speedy response. I can confirm that the new release of Connections has indeed resolved this issue for me.
One supplementary question, if I may, and this may be a limitation of the Google Maps API, but by clicking on the word ‘Google’ at the bottom left of any displayed map, it is possible to “see this area on Google Maps”. Whilst this link opens (in a new tab/window) the map on Google’s own website, this just shows the general area and there is no map pin for the exact location. Including the exact location would be useful, especially for those using a phone or other GPS-enabled mobile device. When I follow this link on my own Android phone, it opens the map in Google’s ‘Maps’ app, but, without the actual location being included in the link, I cannot easily use the app to navigate to that location.
If the Google Maps API does not allow for this, may I suggest the option of an additional ‘Open in Google Maps’ link for this functionality (which is the solution used by The Events Calendar plugin).

Great to hear! Apologies for the trouble! This was a massive update and I missed a few things during testing (the maps did work for me).
I do have plans for some maps improvements which I think will be better than simply linking to Google Maps.

ParticipantThank you again for your speedy response. I shall watch with interest how the plugin continues to develop.
