ParticipantHi!
I’m a newbie! Be warned.
I have purchased the ProPack and I want to create at least 4 different directories.
I understand that you have “individual”, “organization”, and “families” list_types. I get that you can list those three in a shortcode.
But what if I would like to add another “individual” list_type directory.
Does the problem make sense?

Sorry, but there is not a way to add custom list types. What problem are you trying to solve by wanting custom list types? Maybe there is another way.

Oh, I see 4 different directories, I missed that the first time I read it, sorry. See this FAQ, basically this can be done by using categories.
Hope that helps!

GuestOkay Steven- I will give that a try.
For my reference what is the proper way to input multiple short codes??
Ohhh – I see your post about it!!
But just in case, if I wanted to display a list_type for the ‘individual’ postings, it would look something like this, correct? [No commas; just spaces?]
[connections list_type='individual' category='7' show_alphaindex='true' repeat_alphaindex='true' width='500']

GuestOh Steven, one more thing— what is the real difference between ‘individual’, ‘organization’, and ‘families’ list_types? It looks like you can just change it to any list_type you want so it doesn’t matter??? Same with Birthday and Anniversary?
Birthday and Anniversary dates are irrelevant for my website. Is that mean I could use them as a label (for use on a page) and change their templates and have 5 different directories on 5 different pages?

Unless misunderstanding you… I think you might be confused on what the list_type option does.
The list_type equals the entry type. So if you set the list_type to individuals, it will only render the entries entered into Connections as Individuals. Likewise for the Organization and Family entry types.
You very likely better using the method I gave the link to which uses categories to create separate directories.
Hope that helps!
