ParticipantHi,
I have Link & Login installed and I think set-up correctly and Roles assigned. I previously created a member with email login of info@highwaters.net
I created the WP user with info@highwaters.net and when I go to login through Link plugin and go to Your Directory Entry. I get this error. If I change roles I don’t get the error but the Member Profile for info@highwaters.net does not get linked or show up once this user is logged it.
ERROR: You are not authorized to add entries. Please contact the admin if you received this message in error.
How do I troubleshoot?
Thanks,

ParticipantHi,
Ok I found my error. The Member listing was already linked to another email address before I updated this. So I just started fresh with a new member/email and that worked.Question though, is the login provided in the Member Login widget the same url as the wp-admin user login? Maybe it’s my web host but when I try to login through the widget I get a lot of ‘Page not found’ on the site/server. But if I just go to the wp-admin login page as regular user it works.

Great to hear you figured it out! Just to clarify… the links that are made are persist so even after email changes the link will remain between the original user and entry.

That’s interesting as that should not happen. The form rendered in the widget is the exact same form rendered by WordPress on the wp-admin login page. If fact they both use the exact same core WordPress function to render the form on the page. The only real major difference is that the login widget is set to redirect back to the page that the user was on after a successful login whereas the admin login redirects to the admin dashboard.
I just did a test login with an invalid user/pass (since I do not have a valid one) on your site and it properly redirected to the wp-admin login displaying the error message.
Do you by chance have another plugin that configures user login redirect? This could cause errors if it were setup to redirect to a non existing page? It would override the widget login redirect.
Hope that helps, let me know.

ParticipantThanks. I found out I triggered some mod_security settings at web host by too many logins and attempts. So even after I got my ip removed from web host firewall there was still settings needed to be relaxed at host.
Yes, connections pro plugin and login url are all working good, it was hosting issue.
