ParticipantHi Steve,
I’ve got another question for you. I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to link the company name from the card on the category page (see yellow highlight on image for reference) to open in a new page for that individual company? I see that the “Advanced” tab in the “Settings” has this “Enabling this option will turn the name of every entry into a link. Clicking the link will take you to the page with only that entry.” but I don’t see how to make this work in any practical way. I must be missing something and would love to know what I could do to make it work!
Thanks again for your help!
Denise

Enabling that option is all it takes. Which version of cMap do you have installed? You need version 3.0.x to take fuller advantage of this feature.
If you do not have cMap 3.0.x, it is a free update that can be downloaded from your Purchase History. Please be sure to carefully follow the installation/upgrade instructions.

ParticipantHi Steve!
Aha! That’s what I would have thought. And I thought I was keeping things up to date and didn’t realize that updates to the templates didn’t show up in the plugins–my mistake. Thanks, I’ll get that done right away. Yay!! Very exciting that it will be so easy.
Once again, you are my hero. :)
Take care,
Denise

ParticipantHi again,
Sorry, me again. I’ve installed the plugin following the directions and everything appears to be in there correctly. However, it appears I need to fill in the name field with something to have it go to the correct page since it still goes to a 404 page. Do I need to put something in the “name” field to make it work since it keeps the “name” in the URL? Putting my localhost URL in there does not work either.
Thanks,
Denise

You only need to put the org name in the name field … if you’re talking about the name of the entry. you shouldn’t be putting any type of URL in the entry name. Ohh, wait a sec, the name field for the Name URL slug, that’s what you’re taking about right? Just put the default value in their, which is “name”.

ParticipantHi again,
That’s what’s in there, and it leaves the “name” in the URL when clicking on the link which does not point to anything. (i.e. ..name/pink-jeep-tours-inc/)

Name will be part of the URL, so that is right. Can you post a full URL to an entry here?

ParticipantHi again,
Since this is on my localhost, you won’t be able to view it unless I upload it to my server. Based on what you just said, I thought it might be just missing the folder after “localhost” and typed it in, but no, it is still giving me a 404 error. Let me set it up on my server and password protect it and send that to you so you can view it. I’ll get back to you.
Thanks,
Denise

ParticipantSteve,
Can I reply to the email to send you my password to access my site? It is still very much in development, and I don’t want it in public yet.
Thanks.
