GuestHi, I’m using gridder and its a great plugin, easily listed and managed many help services.
I have three questions:
– I’m trying to get the image have a link assigned and have selected in the listing dialogue but the text just expands and contracts when the image is clicked rather than going to the listings url. How can I get this to happen? even if a url would work in the text without going to the profile that would be acceptable.
– Can i have the image display on the profile page as well?
– When a search gets no results the text appears in a single column extending way down the page, perhaps the result is determining the width, how can i stop that happening?
Thanks in advance,

Sorry, this is not possible as the template currently is. There’s a lot of javascript logic in place that makes this all work. To change the behaviour would require reworking quite a bit of that logic.re: even if a url would work in the text without going to the profile that would be acceptable.
If I understand correctly… the only way to do this would actually be to disable the excerpt feature of the expanding panel with theexcerpt_length
shortcode option Gridder enables. YOu would use it like so:
[connections excerpt_length=0]
re: Can i have the image display on the profile page as well?
This is how Gridder works by defaults … what is the exact shortcode you are currently using? What are the image settings for the Large image on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Images tab?re: When a search gets no results the text appears in a single column extending way down the page, perhaps the result is determining the width, how can i stop that happening?
Ahhh… definitely a bug. Gridder will calculate the max width of the row so the expanding panel does not exceed that width. That width is being applied to the entired Connections container when it should only be applied to the Connections list body container. I believe I have a fix for that. If you can give me a temp admin account, I’ll log in and apply the fix. Even with this fix in place, the expanding panel would still only be a single column in this scenario. Well, maybe, I think I may have a solution for that too. I can add a line to check the number of items, if it is less than 2, allow the panel to be full width.Hope that helps, let me know.

ParticipantHi Steve, Thanks for your reply to my questions, your support is excellent. In re-reading it I wasn’t super clear in some parts but you did great in deciphering.

I don’t think were on the same page. I now understand that the image becoming a link isn’t possible – instead what I would like is to have a link in the biographical info field of the listing. So when a listing is clicked and it expands then a person could click a link in the biographical info text to take them to the listing website without having to go the profile page. Presently a hyperlink doesn’t allow clicking. I’m just trying to make it as easy as possible for people to access the help service listings i’m creating. So anyway to allow someone to click through from the main gridder directory page would be great.re: This is how Gridder works by defaults … what is the exact shortcode you are currently using? [connections show_links=true enable_search=true enable_category_select=true show_social_media=false image_single=logo image_single_fallback=none background_color=fdba13 color=555555 page_limit=50 image_width=175 image_height=175]
I’ve uploaded all my images to image and not to logo – i’ll need to upload them there as well to make the image appear on the profile page. Here are my settings for large image (the same for logo and medium):re: If you can give me a temp admin account, I’ll log in and apply the fix
Sounds fantastic! what email shall i send the temp admin to? you can send that to me on my registered connections email. Thanks again!

If you disable this excerpt feature, that should allow links to be clickable. The excerpting function removes HTML such as links when making the excerpt. The full bio text does not remove the HTML so the links should remove clickable.re: Can i have the image display on the profile page as well?
In the shortcode you haveimage_single=logo image_single_fallback=none
This tells Gridder to display the logo rather than the image. If you removeimage_single=logo
, Gridder will display the image which is what it does by default so there will be no need to upload the image to both the image and logo.Hope that helps!

Ok, I applied the fix and that seems like it has done the trick.
