ParticipantGood Afternoon,
I just migrated a website that I had set up with my connections directory to another site. When I went into my settings to activate the licenses for the extensions it read “license activation limit has been reached”. I purchased the unlimited sites package for $299.00 last September- October. Please advise, Thanks

Odd because it has been allowing you to activate, according to the logs any way. I made an adjustment which should address the issue. Please try again. Let me know if the issue persists.

ParticipantIt appears that we are all good now Steven, thanks for the quick response. Is there anything that I should do if this happens again? I am now migrating my sites to the Google Cloud, could that be part of the issue?
Also, from what you know about the Google Cloud server, would you consider that a server that could handle the maximum capacity that the Connections directory could handle, say 20,000 or so entries? Thanks,
Jim

Good to hear this is resolved. I believe the issue stems from an upgrade to the licensing software (third party software) on my side. The update was quite substantial and they must have changed they way validation is handled. I basically told the software that your license was unlimited again, even though it already was.
If it happens again, just contact me… hopefully it does not happen again!

Actually I do not know anything about the Google Cloud servers… I would expect even a mid-priced standard web host to easily handle 20K entries. That said, I would imagine a Google Cloud server instance, properly configured and scaled should be able to handle way more than that. Not sure how much of an answer that is, but I hope that helps!

ParticipantThanks Steven, that tells me what I need to know!
Last question. My goal is to really customize the user experience when they update their information in the directory. I would like to make it as clean and simple as possible. I know about the form and the link extension.
Is there a way to customize the form that people will see when they update or enter their information? My goal would be to only have it ask for certain pieces of information, eliminating any clutter and preventing them from changing certain things on their directory profile, Thanks!

re: Is there a way to customize the form that people will see when they update or enter their information?
There is some. navigate to the Connections : Settings admin page and click the Form tab. There is a section which allow you to choose which fieldsets to display. You can also use drag and drop to change the order of the fieldsets. This does not really allow you to hide specific fields.
I do have a Gravity Form connector in the works, still quite a bit away from being completed. It works great for adding entries, but does not yet work for editing. With this extension one can design a Gravity Form to fit their specific needs while being compatible with both Connections and all of Gravity Forms addons.
I hope I have answered your question!

ParticipantThat would be perfect! With all the fine qualities of the directory that you have built, that would put it over the top!

ParticipantIt would be great if if could use what you have now to add entries. Can you point me in the right direction for that?
