ParticipantWe currently have a license of cMap for one internal site: smcweb/wordpress.
We have a developement site that won’t let us upgrade the cMap plugin.
Development site is dev.smcweb/wordpress. I thought I read on the forums that you would only need one license if you dev site started or ended with dev. or .dev
Please advise. Thanks Tom08/10/2016 at 12:06 pm #386041Steven Zahm

Almost right, you read it here. If it begins with
dev.you should be able to activate the license and then do the upgrade without that activation counting against the site activation limit.I guess my first question is… Did you activate the license on your dev site? From what I can tell in my logs is that is has not been. So, first activate the license then you should be able to do the upgrade.
Let me know if that helps.

ParticipantWell, when I try and activate the license on the dev site it tells me that the activation limit has been reached. Thoughts?

What are the actual fully qualified URLs for both site’s front/home page?

ParticipantWell it’s our intranet so only accessible from within our network.
prod: http://smcweb/wordpress webserver hostname: smcweb.smc.local
dev: http://dev.smcweb/wordpress webserver hostname: smcwebdev.smc.local

Checking the site access logs, the dev site is coming from:
http://smcwebdev/wordpressAnd the live site is coming from:
http://smcweb/wordpressSo, the live site seems to match, but not the dev site. So, perhaps there is something “up” with the dev site’s configuration where the fully qualified domain is not correct??? The license activation uses the core WP function
home_url()so it must be returninghttp://smcwebdev/wordpressinstead ofhttp://dev.smcweb/wordpress.I manually activated the support license key for
http://dev.smcweb/wordpressbut I suspect you will still not be able to update. Let me know either way.08/10/2016 at 4:16 pm #386088Melinda Tharpe
ParticipantIt worked. Thanks a lot.

Which part? Me manually activating the site or a config change or something?
