ParticipantHi,
We are using Connections Pro with the most recent Market theme. I just updated to the newest release and now the page titles are not longer showing up at all, I just get http://www.xyz.edu, where before at least I was getting the page title.
This is greatly affect our SEO and I am wondering if this is fixable and if there is going to be a way to have the actual entry (example: a persons name or company name) populate the page title and if the meta data can be pulled from the bio area?
Thanks,

You’ll have to provide a link to your directory so I can see exactly the issue because there is no code in Connections that would change the page title to a web URL. So maybe another plugin is the causing the issue.
Connections does, in 0.7.8 and greater change the page title to reflect the current category, region and entry name. Please take a look at the settings found on the Connections : Settings admin page under the SEO tab. Make sure the options are enabled.
Hope that helps.

ParticipantHi,
I have deactivated all of the plugins except for the Connections and Market. I have also made sure all of the following settings are set in the SEO Connections settings tab….
Page Title is checked
Page Description is checkedPage Display

ParticipantHi Again,
I just wanted to clarify that by page title I mean the Meta title, bot the title on the actual page. It does display the category, but not the name.
Thanks,

Yep, I understood you were referencing the page meta title…
I’m wondering if All-in-one SEO is overriding it. Does All-in-one SEO is overriding have a page level option where you can disable per page? If it does, can you temporarily display it on the Connections pages. If All-in-one SEO does not, could you temporarily deactivate the plugin so see if the page titles behave correctly?

ParticipantHi,
I couldn’t find anything so I just deactivated the All-in-one-SEO. When I deactivate it, then all of the meta information goes away. No page titles, etc…

Do you know if your have any other plugins that affect the page title? Does the theme hae “seo” features built in?

ParticipantHi,
I think it is. I just activated the twenty ten theme and everything worked. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks,

Well, that definitely means it is the theme. The fix really depends on what the theme is doing. So, there’s nothing I can suggest right now. If you post a link to a zip to your theme [I’ll remove it after I download it] I’ll take a quick look so I can offer some advice or a resolution.
