I was just looking through my page with “view source” and came across a huge slice of CSS in the middle of the page.
In this pastebin entry, it’s over 100 lines of code.
This looks a bit off to me and coupled with the tables thing, it has me thinking about moving towards pulling out.
Well, since posting this I see that this is fairly new (poorly supported) and if it’s Connections that is adding it to my page I am afraid it’s beyond me why you would put a wordpress plugin out that uses it.
You’re using maodern techniques like this in the same plugin that you use out-dated code with tables?
The CSS scoped is newer and poorly or not properly supported by browsers, technically. They do not limit the scope like they should according to the new spec. Now, browsers have supported this use of CSS nearly forever. The purpose of the placement where it’s at is to provide the widest compatibility with these as possible with themes. A large chuck of that CSS has been added over time to deal with mostly themes that have made some poor CSS decisions that not only negatively affect Connections but any other plug that output in the front end too.
As I continue to drop support for legacy browsers, older methods will be phased out.
I hope these replies have been helpful.

If you want to mark my three posts as “resolved” that’s good for me. I can’t see whether or how I can do that.
