GuestHello,
I’ve been able to update the main connections plug in to the newest version, however I cannot update connections CSV import to 1.4 from 1.3. It says it’s not available for automatic update but when I try to click on details or anywhere else for that matter to try to figure out how to update it it says an unexpected error has occurred.
The issue I’m having which I’m assuming is because of the lack of update, is that the directory entries are no longer showing up. It says no entries when I click on our directory page. When I try to re-upload the CSV directory file and map it, it has no effect. The directory remains blank when I go to the manage page.
Please help. Thanks!

Please see this FAQ which explains how to activate your support license in order to receive updates.

Hmmm… I’m not able to reproduce this. Are you able to view details for other plugins? Does it happen consistently or intermittently? Can you share a screenshot to make sure I’m looking in the right place?

This would not be related to the available update for the CSV Import extension.
On the manage page, does it display the “Displaying x of y entries” below the search input? If it does, does the count seem correct? If it does, ensure you have not applied any of the filters by Click the “All” link in the upper right. Make sure all drop downs below the “All” link are set to “Show All…” and then click the “Filter” button.
If that does not help. How many check boxes do you see on the left side of the table? Two or three?
Can you share a screenshot of the page?

GuestHello,
I have successfully updated the importer plug in, thank you for helping with that. When I try to input my directory file, it is still saying that the import is completed but when I go to the entries, nothing is there. I am using this WordPress site as an intranet so unfortunately I cannot link you the page as it’s on our internal server.
Is there a different way I can send you screenshots? I get import complete! And then I go to the manage tab and it says displaying 0 of 0 entries. Show all categories, all entries and show all is selected.
Best,

Are you mapping the Entry ID column? If you are, please see this FAQ.
If you are not, then see the Tips section in the docs. Most issues are resolved by following them.
Hope that helps, let me know.

GuestMy apologies for the delay in response, I have been traveling for work. We followed all of the tips provided including trying on google sheets as well as downloading LibreOffice. My IT rep made sure to do the UTF8 encoding as directed. Still, regardless, everytime we upload and map it says completed and when we go to the manage tab there are no entries. This used to work fine even just with excel CSV import.
As I mentioned we use this as an intranet at my company and not having the directory available for weeks now has not been good. Please let me know how I can work with you to resolve this.
Best,

GuestI am not using entry ID by the way. My columns are First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Department, Work Phone, Cell Phone

Well, no real significant changes have been made to the CSV Import so other than my guesses it is hard to say what the issue is.
- Can you send me screenshots of each step of the import? Especially the mapping step.
- Can you send me a copy of the CSV file you are trying to import.
- Can you send me a screenshot of the Connections : Manage admin page.
If you login, you can attach them right to a reply. Otherwise, you’ll have to post them somewhere where I can download them and share the download links with me.

I did a test import, you file, unmodified, and it imported fine. The only issue that I see is all the rows where the last name is blank, those will be skipped because an individual requires a first and last name. You could add an Organization column and move the last name to the Organization column so they are imported.
When importing, did you briefly see 95% before completing?
Are you navigator to this folder using FTP?
../wp-content/uploads/csv_files
Are the files you are importing located there?
Can you view the actual database? If so, what is the contents of the
{wpdb_prefix}_connections
table? -
