    I am using this plugin to display fire department officers on a government page. I previously set up display using sort by entry ID to order the officers by rank. I now need to reorder a few, and was hoping there was a way to edit entry ID instead of having to recreate the entries. Can you explain how entry ID is assigned and also let me know if I can edit it?

    Sorry, no, the entry ID is assigned by the database automatically in the same way WP assigns ID/s to pages, post and categories. These can not be changed. You can use the Custom Entry Order extension to add a custom ID (of sorts) to order the entries in an order you can specify.
