ParticipantI want to be able to “sync” a client’s Access database with Connections. I’m hoping to have the client export a list, save as CSV, then import.
My sticking points right now are:
a) Can I use the client’s existing Member ID instead of Entry ID somehow?
b) Can Import logos? — I was thinking I could add the logos into WordPress Media, then save the urls in their Access database as a field, but how would I import that?05/12/2017 at 9:54 am #422692Steven Zahm

Sorry, no the entry ID is auto assigned in increments by the WordPress database as entries are entered into Connections. The same way which page and posts ID are auto created and incremented.
Connections does support custom fields. You could add a custom field which can be used to store the existing member ID.

Sorry, no, importing logos is not possible at this time. However, the URL is exported. So, if you added the member ID custom field you could potentially sync in reverse. Export the data from Connections into you access database.
Hope this helps!

ParticipantIt’s not practical to use Connections as the database of record for this.
How can I have the CSV importer take the Photo URL and Logo URL fields from my import file and add them to the entry? Is this something custom you can quote for me?
Or perhaps it would be better to add a code snippet that replaces the logo? That seems like a lot more work.

I can give you a quote to add this feature for you. I’ve done some work in the past to add this but had not yet finished it due to low demand, so, I would not be starting from scratch.
For a quote, please contact me using the Contact link at the very bottom of the page. Thanks!
