ParticipantHello,
I have the following columns in my CSV file :
- Entry Type
- First Name
- Title
- Organization
- Categories
But when I try tu import using the Import CSV plugin, it doesn’t work. The page says “importe complete”, but I have no entries.
I tried other imports this morning, and the plugin was working…
The FAQ also says that when the import plugin encounters both First Name + Organzation, the entry type is automatically set as “individual”, but as I tried many times, it was always an “organization” entry that was created.
thanks for the help !

The issue is that your CSV file does not meet the requirements. Specifically
- “The CSV text file must have fields for the first name and last name OR organization name and must be mapped to the corresponding fields within Connections, otherwise that row will be skipped when the CSV is being imported.“
You are defining the entries as individual but not supplying a last name. You name field has both the first and last in the same field. They need to be separated.
Your also have extended characters, you need to make sure your file is UTF8 encoded. This can cause that row containing the characters not to be imported.
- “If the CSV file being imported is using extended characters such as ä, è, ö and ü the file must be UTF8 encoded.“
After you correct these issues, the file should import just fine. Hope that helps!

ParticipantThanks you so much Steven! It worked, and it’s now imported : http://www.jadelemaitre.fr/women-in-robotics-directory/
Is there a php trick to have the Categories listed in multiple columns ? (children categories as well as parent categories).

I took a look at the page. The categories list from the Enhanced Categories extension is designed to output in columns already. I see that it is on your site. The issue is the design is not to spread children categories across columns because the hierarchy is very hard to discern when it is allowed.
That said, I see since you have only two category parents with one containing the majority it does create quite a lopsided display. So, try adding this to the theme’s custom CSS area.
ul.cn-category-list-container li { page-break-inside: auto; break-inside: initial; }This should allow the categories to display in columns regardless of placement in the hierarchy.
Hope that helps!
