GuestHello
everything seems fine for me and i’m planning to buy one of your template except for my client’s resquest:
he wants to be able to pop up a file of his choice in a lightbox when the user clicks on the image. For now all i see is that this link leads to a url.
So is it possible to make that happen?
i can tweak the template also if you just tell me which hook to use to achieve it.thanks

Yeah, sure it is possible but would require a bit of work. Here’s a link to a QuickTip on creating custom template override files.
http://connections-pro.com/2014/06/04/quicktip-custom-template-override-files/
My suggestion would be to dupe the
card.phpandcard-single.php(if the template you choose has one, and make your edits for a lightbox in the dupes. Save the dupes to one of the paths as outlined in the QuickTip.That’s the easy part … the hard part is the file of his choice…
My suggestion here is to use the custom metabox api to add a new upload file upload field ( I do not have one built in to the api yet). You’ll have to determine where and how to save the file. Maybe the simplest solution would to use the WordPress media manager. You would need to save the image path/url or meta in the entry meta so you can call it to use for you lightbox. I know this is all very high level … so, probably the best thing is to look how a custom field is added, saved and called in the Hours extension:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/connections-business-directory-hours/
Of you strip away of the opening hours logic code it’ll leave you with the basis of what you need.
Hope that helps!

Guesthmm thanks for the hints but indeed it sounds like a kind of a headache :-/
i was just wondering, what about skiping the normal use of it and get the logo field to upload the file instead of making a new meta box?

Sure, you could, but the the “any file” would be limit to “any image” then it would be just a matter of designing the template to open the logo image in a lightbox. That would be fairly simple.
