Hi Steven! I’m not sure if this is right spot for this inquiry, but I’ve set up Bing Webmaster Tools with a site and found five HTTP 500 errors under Crawl Information, and it appears to be URLs that link to Connections profile listings with /vcard/ at the end of the URL.
Clicking on this full URL displays a page that says WordPress > Error in the browser and on the page, simply says: vCard not available for download.
I don’t have need for vcards or anything like that, I’m just wondering if its possible to remedy this error so it doesn’t occur?
Is is showing in the log of errors or is it an occurring error, meaning, if you click on the add to addressbook link, do you get an error or a download of the vCard? If you get a download of the vCard, then there just happened to be an issue with the server at the time Bing was crawling the page so it ended up in the error log … nothing to worry about.
Hi Steven, after taking another peek it looks like the vcard urls for profiles we’ve discontinued were still being indexed and returning the errors, but its not a big deal! Thank you!
Ok, I’m assuming it is crawling links vcard link that were already in its index. I would expect that those invalid URL/s will be removed from the index and no longer be crawled.
