ParticipantI have been trying to move my directory from iwanttotravelto.com/backup to iwanttotravelto.com. I have reinstalled the plugin and all the other addons. I have exported and imported what I could. The problem is the existing categories and listings don’t export… I read something about using filezilla or myphpadmin. Canc you explain what I need to copy and move?

ParticipantI have copied the connections folder in plugins and loaded it in the main directory by replacing the existing one. That didn’t seem to work. Where are those files and pictures stored. Thanks!

If you are migrating an entire site, I recommend BackupBuddy. Similar plugin should work just fine.
If you want to migrate just the Connections stuff, that is a bit more difficult but not that difficult… here’s how:
First, copy the
../wp-content/uploads/connections-images/folder and its contents from the source site to the destination site.Login into the phpMyAdmin for the source site and do a SQL export of all the
{prefix}_connectionstables. There’s roughly a dozen of them. When doing the export, just choose the quick export option (or whatever it is called). No need to change any of the default setting when doing the SQL export.Login to the phpMyAdmin for the destination site.
First, since you already have Connections installed on the destination site, drop (delete) all of the
{prefix}_connectionstables.Now do a SQL import. When doing the SQL import, select the file you previously exported. Again, just leave the default options.
After the import completes, you’ll have to change the table
{prefix}to match the table prefix being used in the destination site.Sounds like a lot but depending on the size of you directory, it only takes 10–20 minutes.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantI’m sorry I don’t understand any of that. I don’t use phpmyadmin. Can I use filezilla?

phpMyAdmin is a tool in your web host control panel. There are many tutorials available which explain how to use it. A quick search yield this:
In the Export step, you would select only the Connections tables. After you import you would renamed the table with the correct table prefix (matching the prefix of the other tables.
re: Can I use filezilla?
Only to copy the images from the source to the destination sites like I explained. You have to use phpMyAdmin to migrate just the Connections tables. There is no other way.
If you are moving the entire site, like I said, you could use BackupBuddy or similar plugin.
